This is one of the perks of my job at Region Stavanger! Today I am lucky! I get to join two guests from Spain as a translator/guide on their first helicopter ride ever! What a thrill! They are here on a cruise ship and will be in the city only for some hours! This means that they do not have 8 hours to do hike to Preikestolen.
They know that a helicopter tour is the best way to admire the Stavanger region and Preikestolen (aka Pulpit rock) in a short amount of time.
How does it work? Book your tickets at the tourist information office in Stavanger (Domkirkeplassen 3). The company needs to be contacted the day of the flight to know and confirm that availability and weather conditions are favorable.
More information here You will be picked up by the Tourist Information office / RegionStavanger and after a 20/30 minute ride to the airport you will be ready for take off!
A 30 minutes flight will allow you to admire some awe-inspiring views, take a look at some here: The view of Stavanger: The view of Preikestolen: For our guests this May, visiting us from Spain “Norway has landscapes taken from a story book, filled with postcard views and really idyllic vistas” and this helicopter ride was “impressive, it is an experience that everyone should enjoy” Tony y Sonia from las Palmas, Canary Islands.
June 11th I have managed to get a couple of French tourists to tell me a bit about the helicopter tour I sold them today:
“C’est cher mais ça vaut le coup” C’est merveilleux, extraordinaire! Tout ensemble, très agréable! Daniel Roca from France.
